OTT Weekend June 20-22: Drishyam 3 and House of the Dragon S3
Drishyam 3 hits Prime Video, House of the Dragon Season 3 launches on JioHotstar, and Save the Tigers Season 3 drops on JioHotstar - honest verdicts on every verifiable release.
The weekend of June 20β22 arrives with one of the more genuinely stacked OTT slates of 2026. Drishyam 3 β already a βΉ330-crore franchise beast β lands on Prime Video after its theatrical sprint. House of the Dragon Season 3 kicks off its eight-episode run on JioHotstar on Monday morning. Save the Tigers Season 3 dropped Thursday night on JioHotstar for Telugu comedy fans. And Netflix is carrying two very different June 19 arrivals: a South Korean action-comedy and a new Harlan Coben adaptation from the same assembly line that produced countless middling but watchable thrillers. Here is a flat look at what actually dropped, what the critics said, and whether the runtime is worth your weekend.

Drishyam 3 β Prime Video (June 18)
Mohanlal's third turn as Georgekutty is the centrepiece of this weekend's OTT calendar. The film ran for 28 days in theatres, crossed βΉ330 crore worldwide, and became Malayalam cinema's highest-grossing release of 2026, surpassing Vaazha 2 (Koimoi). It now streams on Prime Video with Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada audio tracks (India TV News).
Critical reception, however, split firmly. Reviews that were broadly positive called it a meditation on paranoia, guilt, and the weight of sustained deception across a family across time. The more sceptical end of the spectrum β including a 2.25/5 from the Telugu press (Great Andhra) β found the twists forced and the editing slow. Rotten Tomatoes audience scores trended higher than critics.
What is clear: this is a franchise concluder rather than a thriller in the mould of the taut 2013 original. The first two parts rewarded patience; the third asks for more of it. If you have watched both predecessors and care about Georgekutty's arc, you will sit through it. If you have not watched the first two, start there β this film makes no effort to catch newcomers up.
The franchise's original director Jeethu Joseph returns. Meena, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil reprise their roles. The theatrical release was May 21, timed to Mohanlal's birthday.
House of the Dragon Season 3 β JioHotstar (June 22, weekly)
Season 3 premieres on HBO in the US on June 21 at 9 PM ET, and lands on JioHotstar in India on June 22 (Telecom Talk, Variety). Eight episodes, weekly, with the finale slated August 9.
Emma D'Arcy (Rhaenyra), Olivia Cooke (Alicent), and Matt Smith (Daemon) return alongside a widened ensemble that now includes James Norton as Ormund Hightower. The season adapts the Dance of the Dragons's climactic arc β the Battle of the Gullet features prominently in trailers. Season 2 left the Targaryens fully at war; Season 3 is expected to resolve who inherits the Iron Throne.
This is a premium weekly watch rather than a binge. JioHotstar subscribers with an active plan get Episode 1 on Monday morning. Indian audience tracking of this franchise has been strong β the platform has carried every HBO season day-and-date. Budget on roughly 55β65 minutes per episode.
Save the Tigers Season 3 β JioHotstar (June 19)
The Telugu franchise about three perpetually exasperated husbands returns for a third run, now with a fantasy twist: Vennela Kishore plays Lord Indra, descending to intervene in the trio's domestic chaos. Priyadarshi, Abhinav Gomatam, and Krishna Chaitanya reprise their roles (123telugu).
The review at 123telugu gave it 3/5 β watchable, funny in stretches, slightly stretched in the middle. The addition of a heavenly intervention mechanic either freshens the premise or pushes it into farce depending on your patience for escalation comedy. The earlier two seasons built a comfortable fanbase across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Season 3 will likely satisfy returning viewers more than it recruits new ones.
This is an easy watch for Telugu-speaking households β light enough to run across a Friday evening without requiring prior context, though the returning character dynamics gain from knowing the previous seasons.
I Will Find You β Netflix (June 18, all 8 episodes)
Based on Harlan Coben's 2023 novel. Sam Worthington plays David, a man wrongfully imprisoned for murdering his son who receives evidence his son may still be alive. All eight episodes dropped simultaneously on June 18. Britt Lower, Milo Ventimiglia, and Erin Richards co-star (Netflix Tudum).
Metacritic: 55 based on 11 reviews. The Wrap found Worthington and Lower above the material. The Hollywood Reporter flagged pacing inconsistencies β specifically a key plot detail about night terrors introduced and then quietly discarded. Variety was the positive outlier, calling it a gripping take on parental grief (Variety).
Netflix's Harlan Coben adaptations have a reliable formula: false accused protagonist, family secret, European backdrop, passable production. This one is set in the US. If you cleared The Innocent, Stay Close, or Fool Me Once off your list, you know what you are getting. The wrongful conviction premise gives it marginally more dramatic weight than average. Competent rainy-afternoon viewing; not a must-interrupt-your-weekend for.
Husbands in Action β Netflix (June 19)
South Korean action-comedy directed by Park Gyu Tae. Jin Seon-kyu plays Choong-sik, the ex-husband, and Gong Myung plays Min-seok, the new husband. When their shared ex-wife is kidnapped, the two men with every reason to despise each other are forced to cooperate to rescue her (What's on Netflix).
This is a Korean theatrical film with global Netflix rights β the same release window strategy as K-content that plays broadly on the platform. The premise is sitcom-simple, and the trailer leans hard into physical comedy. Cast also includes Kang Han-na and Lee Da-hee. Runtime approximately 2 hours.
For viewers who want a no-stakes Friday night watch without needing subtitles to follow the emotional beats, this sits in comfortable company with Badminton Cops, Extreme Job, and similar Korean comedy-action titles that have found a solid Indian audience on Netflix.
Athiradi β SonyLIV (June 19)
Malayalam action-comedy directed by Arun Anirudhan. Basil Joseph and Tovino Thomas headline a story about a man who left behind his violent past for a quiet life, until circumstance pulls him back. Vineeth Sreenivasan, Riya Shibu, and Zarin Shihab complete the core cast (Esquire India).
Theatrical release was May 14. The film grossed βΉ67.61 crore worldwide. Critical response called it partly fun but dated β The News Minute flagged the central theme of male ego rehabilitation as territory Malayalam cinema has mapped well before (The News Minute). Post-OTT audience reaction on X has been more generous, with particular praise for Tovino's comic timing and Vishnu Vijay's background score.
Available in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. If you are a SonyLIV subscriber looking for something lighter than Drishyam 3's franchise weight, Athiradi fills the slot.
Voicemails for Isabelle β Netflix (June 19)
An English-language Netflix romcom written and directed by Leah McKendrick. Zoey Deutch plays a woman who leaves confessional voicemails to her late sister, not realizing the number has been reassigned. Nick Robinson plays the estate agent unknowingly receiving her messages. Nick Offerman and Lukas Gage round out the cast (Netflix Tudum). Runtime: 1 hour 58 minutes.
Deadline found it a solid Deutch vehicle β her comic timing carries the concept through the third-act stretch. This is squarely in the Netflix romcom tradition: light stakes, warm production design, charming leads. At just under two hours it does not overstay its welcome. Indian audience appetite for this genre on Netflix has been consistent β it ran well in the same window as comparable titles from 2024-25.
Not an awards-season piece. Fine viewing on Sunday evening if the House of Dragon Season 3 premiere has already been consumed.
What to Watch This Weekend + What to Skip
Watch:
- Drishyam 3 (Prime Video) β if you are a franchise follower. Not essential for new viewers, but the Georgekutty story deserves a proper ending. Watch Parts 1 and 2 first if you have not.
- House of the Dragon S3 E1 (JioHotstar, Monday morning) β the most expensive production dropping this week. Worth clearing Monday morning time for JioHotstar subscribers.
- Save the Tigers Season 3 (JioHotstar) β reliable comfort comedy for Telugu audiences. Does not demand a long commitment per session.
- Athiradi (SonyLIV) β lightweight weekend option for Malayalam film fans who want something less intense than Drishyam.
Skip or Deprioritize:
- I Will Find You (Netflix) β functional Harlan Coben formula. Nothing about it is broken, but nothing is urgent. Watch when the queue is empty.
- Husbands in Action (Netflix) β if K-action-comedy is your genre this is a fine entry, otherwise it is filler.
- Voicemails for Isabelle (Netflix) β pleasant background romcom. Not worth prioritizing over the heavier titles above.
